Who are considered the best latte art baristas in the world?

There really is a competition to find out! An organization called World Coffee Events created the World Latte Art Championship, among many other events and contests, to find out exactly who has what it takes to make that perfect latte leaf. This year, the event is taking place from March 29th through to April 1st in Shanghai, China.  Here’s how it works…

(Resource: WorldLatteArt.org) – Baristas are expected to create a single creative latte pattern in the first stage, which is at the Art Bar. From there, they move on to the World Latte Art Championship stage to create two identical free-pour lattes and two identical designer lattes. All final scores are combined and the top 6 competitors qualify for the final round. There, they must create two identical free-pour lattes and two identical designer patterned lattes.

She/He who pours the perfect picture takes the crown.

How did this get so popular? Are you that impressed by the cat or leaf or heart that stares up at you for 30 seconds while you wait for your coffee to cool? Or has it become so mainstream that you don’t even take a second look? If you care to know more, check out this link:
